What COVID-19 test is best for you.

 As COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2)

While the virus continues to spread across the country, testing can provide information as to whether you can interact with others without spreading the virus. Even if you don't exhibit symptoms, but you think you may have been exposed, getting tested can confirm whether or not you are currently infected. Our goal at Rapid Test Laboratories is to maintain the highest level of safety for our customers, and we follow all recommendations and safety protocols put into place by federal agencies. Find out more about the tests that Rapid Test Labs offers below and do your part to slow the spread.

COVID-19 PCR TESTING

Standard (PCR) Viral Testing

If you think you may have been exposed, or might currently have COVID-19, you need a viral test, which identifies the current SARS-CoV-2 infection in your body. PCR is the gold standard of viral testing and may be required prior to receiving certain surgeries, or traveling. The PCR test uses a shallow swab to collect a sample from the nose or throat. Results in 24 hours.

COVID-19 RAPID ANTI-BODY TEST

 COVID-19 IgG/IgM Antibody Testing

The COVID-19 IgG-IgM antibody test is a blood test that may identify a previous infection of SARS-CoV-2. A positive antibody test is presumed to mean a person has been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, at some point in the past. It does not mean they are currently infected. This test should be taken at least 14 days after exposure or 7 days after symptoms end. Results in 24 hours

         COVID-19 SALIVA PCR TESTING

 SALIVA PCR TESTING

Saliva testing for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is as effective as the standard nasopharyngeal tests.

This is the fifth test that the FDA has authorized that uses saliva as a sample for testing. Testing saliva eliminates the need for nasopharyngeal swabs, which have also been prone to shortages, and alleviates the patient discomfort associated with these swabs. Since the saliva sample is self-collected under the observation of a healthcare professional, it could also potentially lower the risk posed to healthcare workers responsible for sample collection.

It is important for immunocompromised people to get tested if they experience symptoms, especially as the new influenza season rolls around. Schedule your test if you are experiencing Symptoms.
